10 foods i always buy healthy grocery essentials

Today's  I'm gonna be sharing with you ten grocery staples foods that I always have stocked
up in my kitchen a couple of months ago I shared my ideas on a beginner's guide to healthy
eating, and I had a few of you asked me what are some foods that I always buy like what
are my staple foods so that is kind of what I'm gonna be covering today and the reason
why I like having these particular foods always stocked up and why it's a good idea to kind
of have really specific types of groceries staples is because it makes your kitchen experience
so much easier all these foods can be used in a number of different ways and some of
them last longer periods of time too and they're just great and of course they' are every
very nutritious as well which is key here for sure now in that blog on beginner's guide to
healthy eating . I also have a grocery shop to buy daily needs essential grocery

https://amzn.to/3ditjYXI also do have like other types of items on hand that will accompany these sorts of things and I do grocery shop for other sorts of items but these ones are the essentials so let's get started the first grocery staple that I always like to have on hand is some kind of hearty vegetables so buy hardly vegetable I mean veggies that tend to last longer periods of time in the fridge or like on your counter so these tend to be root vegetables so these are things like sweet potato white potato carrot sparsnips squash so butternut squash oracorn squash this doesn't mean that I have all of these hearty vegetables on hand at all times but at least at least one of them one or two of them just to always have I mean they probably always shave a bag of carrots in my fridge butt hey're just great because they tend to last longer periods of time other sorts of vegetables that often need to be purchased on a more regular basis what's great about them too is that some of these are starchier vegetables that can kind of act as your good quality carbohydrate option no I will sometimes use things like rice I do like to cook with rice but it's also nice to have a hearty kind of start to your root vegetable often instead of agrain can be cut up and added to soups stews some of them stir fries often they're great roasted in the oven too is great staple number two is some kind of leafy green

so for me this is usually kale it's also often though a container of spring mix so the kind that you get at the grocery store that usually comes in a container and you can sometimes get like the baby mixed lettuces or the kind that has arugula or spinach in it the reason why I like to always have leafy greens is because I honestly like to have like a handful of kind of salad or like a little bit of salad with most of my meals great for breakfast with eggs or some sweet potato if you watched my recent what I eat in a day video you would kind of see what I'm talking about here but often leafy greens can be really easily added to smoothies grab a handful throw it on the side just makes a great side dish eat it with everything staple number three is frozen fruit and frozen vegetables of some kind so always 100% of the time I have a bag of frozen fruit usually it's either frozen strawberries or frozen mixed berries sometimes it's frozen pineapple this is essential for smoothies because I loves moothies some of these are great a lot of us do they make for really quick breakfasts for frozen vegetables I pretty much always have at least a bag of frozen peas or frozen green beans but there's other types of frozen veggies that you can have there they're frozen so they can last many months and they're great for when you're in a pinch so with the veggies you know if you just maybe you don't have any fresh vegetables on hand but you can really quickly toss a couple of those into a stir-fry that you're making or just on a side with your dinner staple number four are bananas I think this is probably a staple for most people most families but definitely myself included I always like to have a bunch of bananas again often I'm using these for smoothies but I also like to use them in a myriad of other ways sometimes I will make up ending on a bread or snack on their own with a little bit of nut butter they'll slice up some banana and have it with another type of fresh fruit so along with this kind of category I guess I do like to have usually some other kind of fresh fruit along with the bananas whether it be navel oranges or maybe a package of blueberries something like that but definitely bananas staple number five are nuts and seeds whether it's a package of walnuts or pecans and most definitely hemp seeds I have to highlight this one here hemp seeds are so versatile I use them daily probably for the most part I add them to my smoothies great source of plant-based protein healthy omega-3 fatty acids and fiber but I also like sometimes adding them into if I'm making like a salad dressing sometimes I like to thicken it in the blender hemp seeds are great for that if I make a pesto hemp seeds are good for kind of you know thickening those sorts of things and same with other types of nuts or seeds and of course for adding on to salads and other types of lunches or dinner recipes they're great for sprinkling on too and just adding that extra boost of some good fats to make a meal a little bit more hearty staple number six similar to nuts and seeds are some kind of nut butter or seed butter so usually for me this is sunflower seed butter but sometimes I'll have almond butter or tahini instead so tahini being sesame seed butter and I like this because I mean I use it for so many different things it's great with fruit for a snack but also good I sometimes like to make grain-free nut butter pancakes so kind of replaces flour in a sense it works quite well for that kind of thing I do have a recipe upon my blog for pumpkin pancakes I'll leave a link to it below staple number seven is some kind of protein so this is something that I definitely always have on hand regularly so this may be chicken breast it might be ground turkey fish or like a can of green lentilsI will have something that can easily beadded or made with a meal staple number eight our eggs always have eggs in the fridge so eggs are great because of course they are really easy for cooking up for breakfast and you know pretty much an essential for a lot of different kinds of baked goods you definitely can make different kinds of baked goods without eggs sometimes. I will use make a flax egg with flax ground flax seed but I definitely do like to have eggs on hand because I use them for a number of different things they're quite a versatile food good source of cholineomega-3 fatty acids protein all that good stuff so it's a good kind of whole food to have staple number nine is apple cider vinegar also sometimes perhaps balsamic vinegar but generally apple cider vinegar and that's because I love making homemade salad dressings if I didn't have like a vinegar on hand then it definitely would make salad making not as fun and exciting sometimes you mean you could just use lemon juice sometimes that's quite lovely for salads but definitely I like having apple cider vinegar on hand it's an essential for me and staple number ten is an oil so olive oil is usually what I have on hand but sometimes avocado oil I also like to use I know I'm kind of throwing out a few different options here but also coconut oil is great too but these ones are more stable to higher heat temperatures so they're safer for higher heat cooking if you are cooking on a pan as opposed to those high higher processed vegetable oils that come in the clear packaging definitely not as staple to higher heat cooking like canola oils soy corn oil those mixed vegetable oils are olive oil and avocado oil I also really like having them because of making salad dressing so I'm always whipping up salad dressings because I do make quite a lot of salads and like salad bowls and things we're having a dressing or you know that kind of thing it is it's useful and delicious and that is it for today's video on my grocery staples the foods that I always like to have on hand I hope that you found this list kind of helpful or in sightful I'd love to hear from you is there any food that you find you always have on hand or you are always kind of reaching for at the grocery store.
